Our inaugeral
Harvest Trail Race will be run around the fields and through the woods at historic Ives Farm in Cheshire hosted by the
Cheshire Land Trust and the
Cheshire Community YMCA.
Fall is a great time to be at the farm because the leaves are changing, the air is crisp and the holidays are just around the corner.
This family friendly event will have 3 races so everyone can participate. The first 200 5K and Y Cup Relay participants will get a custom logo water bottle.
- The 5K course is a single loop that starts and ends near the barn on the property. Runners will start out heading across Cheshire Street and head up into the woods for mile one. There are some nice rollers but not too much elevation. Once out of the woods they will skirt the perimeter of the fields before crossing back over Cheshire Street for a run around the back fields of the farm including nice views of the Quinipiac River. The finish line is just past a short punchy hill where its time to relax and enjoy some post race festivities.
- The Y Cup Relay will follow the same trails as the 5K, but runners will be in teams of 3 with each runner doing a 1 mile segment of the course. The Y Cup winner is the school that has the best results from runners in each grade.
- The Toddler Trot is for children ages 6 and under. Parents are welcome to run along as well. This race will start behind the Red barn at the farm and loop around one the greenhouses. Participants will end their race at the same finish line as the 5K and the Y Cup.
There will be fall themed activities inculding
pumpin decorating,
face painting,
halloweeen mask making,
games and
music for the whole family to enjoy.
The farm market will also be open to pick up fresh produce.

9:40AM - Packet Pick Up closes
9:45AM - Toddler Trot
10:00AM - 5K and Y Cup races start
11:00AM - Awards
- Top 3 Overall Male and Female in the 5K and
- Top 3 boys/girls team from each grade for the Y Cup + best team tshirts/costumes
